Saturday, October 3, 2009. Fun trial, lots of top competitors. Zar won 2nd Place in Obedience.

Saturday, August 22, 2009, GREAT DAY for a K-9 trial. Overcast and 60 degree weather. Zar managed to grab FIRST PLACE AGILITY.

This year, "National Night out" will be on Tuesday, August 3, 2009. Each K-9 team will be assigned to a group of officers who will visit different block parties in West Sacramento. This will be a great night to meet and greet with the people we serve and protect. Look for pictures after the event under each officers' bio.

7-18-2009, 1500 hours, Today Dave and Chance found themselves as part of the top news story for several local new channels. A mountain lion was spotted in the Southport area and Dave and Chance withstood the 100 plus degree temperatures and assisted local and state animal control officers in trying to locate the lion.

Zar is getting close to returning to patrol. He was diagnosed with a deep bone infection - this bone was broken in four places. The bone had to heal before the bone would fuse itself together. The infection has now cleared up and he is rapidly healing. We are hoping to be back to serving the citizens of West Sacramento on Tuesday, July 28, 2009.

K-9 was recently injured in a training accident. He broke four bones in his left toe. We hope he will be healed and back in service by the end of June.

Vacaville PD K-9 teams will begin training this Wednesday June 10, 2009 with the West Sac PD, Davis PD, Sac PD and Corning K-9 teams.
